If you shoot Nikon I won't hold it against you!

Actually I don't have anything against my Nikon Brethren!  I spent almost 20 years with Nikon's in my hand, they make a great product.  This weekend I pushed my Canon 5D MKII to the limit.  (The next few sentences are kind of technical)  I spent most of the day at ISO 6400 and was so pleased with the results!  The entire Indian wedding was shot with my 85mm at f 1.2 with the ISO at 6400.  I'm blown away by the quality.  I'm not scared of a candle light ceremony anymore! :)

Nick and Sujata let us spend the entire day with them, thunder, rain wind and all!  Did I say wind?  It was sooooooo windy.  They ended the night with a beautiful fireworks display (yes the wind died down) that I recorded in Hi-Def video, again on the MKII.  Love that camera!  Love you too Nick and Sujata... almost as much as my MKII!  I'll post the video a little later.

You make me want to switch over to the dark side. It is funny. I didn't choose Nikon. My parents purchased me my first SLR right when I went to college. It was a Nikon 6006. I had Nikon lenses so when I went digital so I got a Nikon D70. Well I got more nikon lenses for that camera then went to Fuji S5 since I could use my Nikon lenses. So I purchased a D300 to upgrade. It works at 1600 in a pinch but I don't suggest a 20x30 at that ISO on that camera. Sigh.....Lovely images as always. I need an 85 1.2 prime lens.....next on the shopping list. Now do I get Nikon or do I get a 5D MII and get a canon one? :)

Dang man those were shot at 6400 iso??!! Amazing. Going to try this with my Nikon more often, right now I dont take it past 3500 iso. Just shot an entire session with no flash and with these high iso ranges we can no use looks better than if flash was used.

As always your work is outstanding, dramatic and looks right out of a magazine shoot for National geographic!
